MIS/Epson lawsuit

Several have asked about the potential effect on MIS of the Epson lawsuit. Here is their take on it, from the website: .... If Epson is successful with these lawsuits, it will have a major impact on the compatibles industry. There is a good chance they will be successful, in that they won a similar lawsuit last year against Mulit-Union (one of the major suppliers). This action by Epson will have no immediate impact on MIS. Our largest suppier of compatible Epson product was not named in the annoucement. The reason for this is that their cartridge designs are totally different than Eposn's design. Furthermore, they received approval for sale in Japan, home of Epson, prior to releasing their products. It is unlikely they will be named in any patent infringement actions by Epson. We will have to wait and see how this action by Epson effects the market place. We are concerned about our suppliers, and pleased that our main source of supply did their homework upfront.
