R2400 oily looking spots on EM

R2400 oily looking spots on EM

Anybody else had problems with small, oily looking spots in black areas
on EHM when doing b&w? There are a few people on DPReview who are
having it (I'm one of them).

I had this kind of "oily" look on EEM with a 1800 in col mode. From the
various information I could gather including Tech Support this is due
to excessive ink being delivered by the head. This can only be fixed by
setting in the driver another media type, spraying less ink or a
linearization including ink limit setting. Not feasible on a 1800 but
on a 2400 (if this is the reason), Colorbase might also help.

I haven't had that problem, but just had a thought - when I first got
my 2400 I found that it put down too much ink, making the blacks look
overloaded and blocked up. I now keep the ink level at -5% and it
looks great. I don't know what your setting is, but it might be worth
a try to lower it and see if it makes a difference.
