Black and white photo with epson 2400
2006-03-06 by Rick
Hey guy's, how is everyone? I posted a question several months ago in regard to printing black and white photographs from my epson 1280. It was apparent after speaking to some of the pros in the forum, that I was not going to be able to accomplish this with the 1280 because of the One Black Ink. I did OK for a while channel mixing and adding a color balance adjustment layer with 10% blue. But I was not happy. I finally went out and bought the Epson 2400. "GREAT PRINTER" I've been using Epson for several years and this will be my 5th Epson printer. It was a bit challenging at first but after some trial and error and expensive paper I've Finally got it. I would like it if the printing experianced would look at my photo and tell me if i'm mixing good here. I've been working on my Black and Whites for some time now and I like the look and feel of my images. When I printed this photo on the 2400 with all color management off , system calibrated, the print is dead on. Beautiful in Matte and Semi gloss. I would like to take it to the next level and print using the curves you guy's speak about using the Quadtone Rip. Can someone explain the procedure and how or what's the best curve or is it up to me to figure that out, i'm really lost in this subject. Thanks and here is the link to the photo. http://www.pbase.com/image/56829244 Rick G.....
