Noise removal, RAW conversion

Coming back from several days away - my own experience, after using both Neat Image (NI) and Noise Ninja (NN), and a few other noise removal tool, is that Noise Ninja is the easiest to use, while producing results at least as good as Neat Image. Remember that none of the really good noise removal tools are at their best when used at default settings. Whatever one you choose, read all the help files, maybe read them twice. Then get out your troublesome (but not hopeless) images which were shot at ISO 400 or higher, and run them through either NI or NN. If you really want a treat, learn how to "paint in" noise removal, using blended layers. BIll Hansen
