More durable matte paper and Silver Rag for C86?

More durable matte paper and Silver Rag for C86?

2006-04-27 by welchmatt

While I dither back and forth on which wide printer to get, I'm still
printing with and enjoying my C86. I use mostly Photo Rag right now,
and really like the matte finish.

I have a need to put some matte photos in an album that will get
handled a lot, and don't have a lot of confidence in Photo Rag for
this application. Is there a matte paper that is "tougher" than Photo
Rag (and preferably that Paul Roark has "profiled" for the C86) that
might meet my needs? I'm interested right now in the PremierArt Hot
Press paper, though I wonder if it might be too smooth for my tastes.

On an unrelated note, for those times I do want to make non-matte
prints, has anyone done any work with the C86 and the new Museo Silver
Rag, or maybe the new Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl (if it's even out yet)?
