We use the Pearl and Glossy. It's not bad. Sucks as you get closer to end of roll, lots of curl. I've been using the Ilford Heavy Smooth Matte for several years now as my contact sheet paper. It's double sided, inexpensive, and gives very workable color contacts. It does not take MIS EZ inks as well as Epson or Moab papers (the ones that I use now for my individual B&W images) so I don't use it for that. When I was doing B&W on glossy with Lyson inks I used the Glossy and Pearl papers with good results. Cheers, Kip roschko_leolevin wrote:

Hi Florian: Ilford Smooth Pearl is my standard paper for commercial quality prints. I doesn't have the cache of the nice fine art matt papers but it has nice "photo" weight and prints beautifully, color or BW, with K3 inks. It also works nicely with high resolution macro images were you want crispy detail without having to use a glossy paper. Lou

>Has anybody experiences with Ilford inkjet Paper? I use Galerie Smooth Pearl paper in my R2400 for color prints. I think it is awesome. For black and white, I am now experimenting with Hawk Mountain Merlin Natural. I've pretty much decided that it's pearl finish for color, matte for b&w. Dave. -- David Keenan, ausdlk@... on 5/10/2006

Hi
Printing on a 1430 with an Eb6 standard combination, I want to explore the Ilford papers. Since I'm printing matte only, is there a user who prints with either : Fine Art smooth (be it 200 or 220g/sm), Smooth Cotton Rag or Gold Cotton smooth. Actually I'm using only Red River Polar Matte and Epson Cold Press.
Thanks
