Digital BW, The Print

Has anyone tried tinting oils (Marshall's?) over Print Shield on matte or Pearl paper?  I have an 
on-going restoration/replication project that needs to hand tint over matte and probably 
pearl or a textured semi-gloss.  I though I saw somewhere where it might be possible to tint 
over Print Shield.  Back-up will be to make inkjet negatives and contact print to silver but I'd 
like to try the inkjet with Print Shield first.  Thanks.
