The Photosmarts have a tight 180 degree paper path, and caused a bit of ink to smear at the margin on the 190. Yes, Epson is right to only recommend their papers (both because they know they work with their printers, and because its how they earn their paychecks), but that does not mean that you should be having troubles with these other papers. Are you using a straight paper path for the 300? Do you hear scraping sounds followed by a snap near the end of the print? That would indicate it was rubbing before it straightens out. C.
