Scanner recommendations

I would like to scan some of my best negs, ( BxW and Color ) and
enlarge them to at least 13 x 19 or thereabouts, a majority of them
are 35 mm , it would be nice to scan 120 but I am only working with a
$500.00 budget.

Do I need to spend more ?

What would you recommend ?

I am printing with a 2400.

Thanks Mick.

A Minolta 5400 II if still available otherwise a Nikon 5000.
Both only for 35 mm usable. Get a secondhand Epson 4870 or
4990 for MF if there's still some money left or by the time
you get more money. Don't get an Epson V700 or V750-M right
now if the color fringing issue isn't sorted out.

I use a Canon LIDE 80scanner and get pretty good results, although i recently sold a Canon Canoscan 8400Scanner to a local photo lab as part of my work and i was very highly impressed with its quality. They've had it for about a month and have only praise to say about it.

Maybe you can check out the prices locally to you.

Cheers.
Sean.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
