What is release paper ?

What is release paper ?

2006-06-16 by bwbfargo

One of the messages I read dealt with the process of wiping paper
before use to aviod flaking issues. In the message another method was
mentiond that involved placing the paper between two sheets of release
paper and rolling it. Can someone tell me what is being used for
release paper ?

Thank You

Release is a paper used in drafting. It is used to protect a drawing
and prevents it from smugging. It is a refined "waxed" paper or
parchment paper.

In all my years of Drafting, I have never heard of nor seen "Release Paper".

Bruce,

I have bought release paper from Seal for use in dry mounting. It is a
silcone impregnated sheet that is designed not to stick to anything. I
use it as a cover sheet witn my dry mount press but I imagine it could
have many other uses.

Yeah, since it's not a drafting tool you might not have.
There are different kinds of release papers from cooking to acid
handling.

Google it.
