Digital BW, The Print

Howdy folks,  I just signed up with your group and LOOK FORWARD to 
learning and sharing info with all!  I just purchased a new 1280 
(hasn't even arrived yet) and want to use it dedicated to black and 
white.  My other printer is the R1800, for color.  While surfing last 
night, I came across MIS and the UT-2 information on their website and 
am considering this set-up for BW prints, mostly portraits.  Thinking 
out loud:  I have never had a dye based printer before; only after 
purchasing the 1280 online LAST NIGHT, I learned that there are some 
issues of permanance with the ink/paper combinations.  While up to 3:30 
last night researching this, MIS and the UT-2 inks kept popping up.  
And today, while on Nikonians, I learned of your discussion group, so 
here I am. I have read a few of the posts and am wondering if this 
would be the way to go for BW printing.  My main concern now is 
permanence.  This is a mouthful I know, but I need your help!!  Thanks, 
many times over!!!
