Roger,

you mean you don't get bronzing (i.e. blacks looking metallic when viewing
the print at certain agles)? Not the plastic cheap feel that I felt on Kodak
Ultima Satin prints? These are reportedly the biggest problems with
(semi)glossy papers, that make them not suitable for many (including me),
although they yield much deeper blacks than matte papers.

Tom,

I am printing black and white portraits on Epson Semi Gloss Paper and
MIS Premium Glossy Paper. I am using a PC, an Epson 1280 , Photoshop
6.0, MIS VM inkset and Paul's curves (nc) and workflow. I am a new
user to this "system". I like the look of these prints much better
than any previous B & W prints I have made on the Epson 2000 or 1280
printers with OEM inks. I like the look of the prints on both EP
SGP and the MIS PGP. I will also be trying Xtreme Gamut Pigment
Glossy Paper for a comparison. Overall, I have made about 25 8 x 10
prints using the MIS inks and Paul's curves and feel that the results
are good. There does not appear to be any "dusting" or other
problems with any of glossy or semi glossy prints after four days.
