Digital BW, The Print

I'm new here (been lurking awhile) and use Elements 4.0. As such much 
of what I'm reading by Paul & Clayton don't seem applicable for me. I 
can't do curves for example or lab color in Elements. At least I don't 
think I can. I have done some printing with MIS products on a C-82 a 
few years back. 

I convert with Silver Oxide Filters and wish to print 
with an R220 (which I haven't purchaed yet) the simplest way possible. 
My present practice work using EEM on a C-88 with Epson Color set 
works well when using colors, but very washed out and light with BO. 
I've tried several settings, but really don't know what I should set. 
I seem to be flailing in different directions and any help would be 
most appreciated.
