The test strips from the 1200 on EAM that I've seen look excellent. They compare favorably to those done on the 1160. I just received a resolution test from a 1200 owner. It is so close to the 1160 that I don't think anyone could tell which was which even with a loupe. Some notice a slight smoothness advantage to the 1200. I think the results are so close that in actual photos at normal viewing distance they are essentially equivalent on EAM. I've heard that the hextone inks put out more ink, probably due to the light inks in the highlights. However, with the workflows, inksets, and papers I have been working with I do not notice any disadvantages to the hextone printers in this respect. We always pump as much ink as possible as we near the black, and that is where I notice the most dampness. That area is really not affected by the hextone's light inks. Epson lays down as much ink in the 100% black as is consistent with the paper choice. So, we are basically relying on Epson to say what quantity of ink is appropriate. The 1200 was made before EAM was out, and EAM can take more ink than any paper the 1200 was designed for. So, I think EAM is more than up to the 1200's ink flow. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
