All right....I think I'm gonna take the plunge.

So I'm thinking (after reading Paul Roark's information) I'm gonna try
out the epson R220 and the UT-R2 inkset. The only thing I'm wanting to
know about is how limited (if at all) would I be for trying out some of
the higher end papers at some point down the line.

I figure the printer and ink don't cost much so I'm not gonna be out
much if I don't like it as I can do the whole thing for less than $200
easily.

Also, this is by far the most useful group I've ever encountered on
Yahoo groups. Thanks for all the great info.

The stiffer/thicker papers can be a problem to feed. So, it might be a good idea to start with the thinner paper stock. Since this is an 8 1/2 printer the thinner papers are fine for most applications anyway.

As far as the surfaces, any of the more or less usual surfaces will be no problem. You should enjoy printing with this setup.

I also use the R220. I just got a lot of Innova Smooth Cotton 315
paper in 4x6 and 8.5x11 and for a thick paper, they feed really well,
and much better than Photo Rag or Moab Entrada for some reason. I
highly recommend you give this paper a shot if you're looking for
something in a matte surface.
