switching inks w/ aqua dest (cross posted)

This message is cross posted with the Epson 9000 list, but maybe of some interest here, originally it was an answer for Todd, regarding "ink-switching". As far as I know aqua dest wasn´t mentioned on this list before as most guys seem to prefer C2H5OH, quote: "Give your printer a drink !" Now the message: I just changed inks on my new 7500 from Epson OEM to MIS Variable Mix. I had ordered two sets of empty carts from media street and filled one set with destilled water and the second with the ink. After removing the OEM Carts I gave the printer just one purging cycle with aqua dest and then installed the MIS VM inks. (The tubes looked absolutely clean to my eyeballs after one cleaning cycle.) First nozzle check was absolutly perfect, no cloggs at all. First print using Paul´s medium warm curve was a bit flaw and posterizing, second print using the warm curve was as perfect as my best prints with piezo on my 3000 or 1160 machines. Nota bene: I didn´t even print an extra flush image ( but the first print has de facto been a flush print). Bernd
