PS opens RGB images and displays them almost fully desaturated

I was wondering if anyone had experienced this before and if so could guide me in the direction of correcting it. This afternoon PS started displaying RGB images whereby they are still listed as RGB but look like they would if one desaturated them almost down to greyscale. The images are fine as when opened in another program they look like they should. Does anyone have any ideas. I am on o.s. 10.3.9, PS cs and color settings are set for printing with NK 7.
