Curve help with EyeOne

Curve help with EyeOne

2006-10-02 by James Haney

I finally got my hands on an EyeOne for a couple of weeks.

I am experimenting with calibrating with it to re-create my base
Carbon Sepia and Selenium curves (Cone PT inks)

I have printed a calibration page and determined my partitioning.

Now I am using the eyeOne to read the 21 step patch to generate a
linearization.

After Linearizing I have an abrupt step from 95% black to 100%.

I have had this problem before when calibrating with densitometer and
overcome it with a variety of techniques.

Yesterday I fooled around with ink limits, boostK and no boostK.
Different values for greyhilite and greyshadow as well as grayoverlap.

I don't seem to be getting anywhere though on fixing the shadow
transition.

Anyone have any hints.

James,

Are you aware of the QTR yahoo forum? Roy is there. He's da man.
