MIS UT7 on 2200

2006-11-21 by a5aylmer

Hi-

Am just now switching to B&W on 2200. Have bought cleaning carts and am wondering if
anyone has experience with cleaning out colors. Can I use the old color again later(tho am
theoretically over color) Do I save the color carts for another use? Do I use a cleaning cart in
each position?
Thanks for your input,
Annabelle

Yes. I rinse the outlets with a squirt of water form a syringe to get the
ink off, and then tape the outlets. My concern would be dried ink getting
into the printer when the old carts are re-used.

You really don't even need cleaning carts. There will still be a bit of
color in the head after you switch inks. It might take a couple of cleaning
cycles to get it out. Then again the next day more might have come off the
innards of the head and affect the first print. So, whether cleaning fluid
is economical is a matter of how much it costs relative to ink. There is no
incompatibility issue, however.

Good luck with the system.
