Bowhaus IJC/OPM included profiles

Bowhaus IJC/OPM included profiles

2006-12-16 by Mike Dawson

Hi,

New to this group and am trying to get my B&W work going again. I used
to use Cone's Piezography with the old driver (R9 now?).

I have an Epson 1280 and just installed Cone's K6 inks and the QTR rip
for Windows. Looks pretty good although I am seeing very faint banding
(someone suggested that converting to 720 ppi eliminated this) and the
QTR rip is painfully slow on my dual core Athlon with 2 GB RAM.

So I want to check out Bowhaus IJC/OPM. But I can't find a list of the
ink/paper profiles that ship with their rip anywhere. I've searched
their website as well as this group but so far no luck.

Can anyone point me to a list of the profiles that ship with IJC/OPM?

Thanks,
Mike

I don't know if both Bowhaus and QTR use the same basic Gimp print engine,
but I suspect they do. However, with QTR I was getting some faint banding
(white lines due to pure coverage) in the dark areas and a weak dmax. I had
the resolution set at 1440 super, which is what I'd usually use with the
Epson driver. At 2880 the QTR dmax is great and the blacks very smooth --
like IJC/OPM. However, at 2880 QTR is slow -- just like IJC/OPM. On the
2200 IJC/OPM and QTR at 2880 take slightly over twice as long to print an
image as does the Epson driver at 1440 with High Speed UN-checked (my normal
setting).

Hi Mike,

Even though there is a list of profiles (I've sent that to your e-mail) there are no profiles for
the K6 and K7 inks. You'll have to make those on your own (for your specific printer-ink-
paper combinations) or find someone out there with the same printer you are using and
willing to share them with you. I hope this helps.
