Digital BW, The Print

I'm wondering if others people are using Renaissance Wax (or similar
products) on Crane Silver Rag or Innova F-Type Glossy and if so how
they are applying it.  I'm having some problems.  If I apply it and
let it dry it is extremely difficult to wipe off. Also, some care
seems necessary in applying the wax, particularly in brighter, flatter
parts of an image.  

Anyone care to share their experiences, or else offer an alternative
to the wax?
