Premier Art "Matte BW"

Premier Art "Matte BW"

2006-12-29 by Paul Roark

I linearized a test strip I did last night and read the highest matte dmax I
think I've ever measured - Lab L 14.15, Density 1.76. It was with the 2200,
Eboni, QTR, and this very affordable, acid free "EEM substitute" Premier Art
"Matte BW," also known as Premier Matte or just "Matte paper 210 gsm c2S."
See http://www.premierimagingproducts.com/pm_mattebw.php. I buy my letter
size sheets from ITSupplies at
http://www.itsupplies.com/cgi-bin/itsupplies.storefront/459547510165a9ca273f
4200c14c0650/Catalog/1623 ($0.22 per sheet).

Right. I've been getting dmax of 1.71 with K3 ink on a 2400 with this
paper. For the price you can't beat it. I wish it came in a 300-310g
weight. Thanks for suggesting this, Paul.

Half off topic, but do any of you use this for color proofing? Is it
a good substitute for EEM all around?

Sorry I haven't tried it for color proofing but, properly profiled, I bet it
would work well. I'll try it with a canned profile.

Hi all,

Based on an earlier post by Paul on this paper, I have been looking
around for a supplier in Europe but so far without success. Has anyone
a suggestion?
