Digital BW, The Print

Will the ut-r2 inks work in an epson R260?  I'm assuming this is just
a newer generation of the r220.  I'm trying to use a bestbuy gift cert
to get a printer to set up with a black and white inkset, but they
don't sell the c88 or r220 anymore.


Also, is there an option out there to set up an r1800 with a black and
white inkset that will print on glossy/luster paper?  I've tried the
NK7 in an r1800 and it works real nice, but I like the glossy finishes
better for black and white.

The R260 uses different carts than the R220 and R340, which both use the same carts.  As far as I can tell, there are no refillable carts available.  A good bet right now is the R340.  They are still available.

As an aside, this looks like a very interesting printer.  It appears to take
dye performance to new levels - almost 100 years of display and 1.5 pl dots.
I think this tells us there will be a new hextone with this arrangement
soon.  Then all we'll need are the chips and carts.  So, cheer on the
cloners and hackers.  (I suspect the chips can be re-used as constant output
(no reset) units with an appropriate resistance between the leads.)
