B&W printing for beginners

B&W printing for beginners

2006-12-31 by John Bevans

Is there a file that takes a beginner through the process of printing
black and white prints. I can get my photo through photoshop looking
the way I would like it but from there on I am a little confused. I
saw a r220 in the local Staples. From what I can determine this is a
good printer but then we come to inks sets. Is this printer to
dedicated to B&W? Do I replace the color cartridges? I need some
basic steps to get my potential r22o ready to print.
Thanks
John

The 220 is a great printer and a great way to get started, but it
comes with dye inks so you'll need to put some pigment BW inks in it.
Please see article #10 at the link below. It outlines how to use the
MIS R2 inks in the 220 in a way that will give you a limited range
variable tone inkset that can be controlled with the standard driver.
It's a high quality dedicated BW ink set and will get you up and
running very quickly, and is easy to use.

Also, better go get that 220 because they're getting hard to find.

Regards,
Clayton
