Over-Inking with NK7 inks and QTR on Epson 2200?

Over-Inking with NK7 inks and QTR on Epson 2200?

2007-01-15 by John Hollenberg

I went to make a profile using QTR create-icc for HPR on my Epson 2200
loaded with Cone NK7 inks. Printed a target with the 2880 HPR curve
that comes with QTR. First thing I noticed after printing out
the step-wedge from QTR was some bleeding on the darkest patch,
visible with the naked eye. With a loupe, the next darkest patch also
has some bleed (slight) into adjacent patches. Is this going to be a
problem? Suggestions?

Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 2400 and NK7 inks/profiles. Think the
ink limits may have been set too high when they built the profiles.
There are no curve descriptor files available so I just made an
adjustment in the QTR driver, decreasing ink limits by about 20%
seemed to help.

I've been getting a few reports like this lately, but they rarely show up here-
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/piezography3000/
that would really be one place to post, as well as the QTR group, and here thirdly.
But IJM would be the primary to contact, particularly if it's a trend.
