Glossy printing w/ MIS inks

Glossy printing w/ MIS inks

2002-01-24 by Euphy Scott

Hallo, this might be a bit off-topic, but I've recently tried printing
onto clear glossy labels for CDs, and have a terrible time with the ink
remaining tacky for days afterwards. I have had success with them before,
using epsons OEM carts in my 1290, it took longer than usual to dry, but
it did eventually. I've since installed a MIS CFS full of their standard
epson replacement inkset, and the new ink doesn't seem to agree so much
with the labels coating.

Is there such a thing as a barrier spray or coating that would seal the
surface of the label, maybe make it a bit more scuff-proof too? I could
just stick another clear label on top of the first, but thats expensive,
and its hard enough to get even one stuck down straight without airbubbles
under it...

Thanks if anyone can give any pointers in the right direction :)

Sandy,

you'd be better off asking this on other groups that deal with color inksets,
such as
