Show in Napa, Ca.

Shameless self promotion:
I am a long time lurker and sometimes participant here.
I am having a show in Napa California opening on Friday Feb 23 through
April 5th. The is an opening reception on Friday Feb 23 from 6:30 -
8:30. I would love to meet members and share a glass of sparkling
wine. The photos will all be black and whites printed digitally.
Many of them are on Innova Semi Matte.

The show is at the Artissimo Gallery at 3373 Solano Ave in Napa. It is
located in the Redwood Plaza.

Thanks and I hope to see you there.

innova semi matte

2007-02-19 by Douglas meeuwsen

Just got my box of innova semi matte. I am the guy that expressed
disappointment with the innova f type glossy because the gloss
differential was just as pronounced as with any other paper. (others
argued the point, but it was sitting right there)
Well, the innova semi matte is way better. The paper seems to tame
the gloss of the inks. With the f type, the inks were like a glossy
sticker that you were tempted to peel off the paper. with the semi
matte, the inks are much less glossy, and match the gloss of the
paper nicely. The surface is actually smoother that the f type
glossy. The f-type has little parallel lines in the surface that
affected the image under certain conditions. The semi matte has a
smooth surface with no lines it. I am much more pleased with this
paper. I dont think I will be spraying it either, which is very nice.

Great. Thanks for that report. When I saw it at Photo Expo it looked
better to me too. I'm really looking forward to it. I may even be able
to print black and white with the K2 Ultrachome on it, hopefully.

Does this paper have less of a curl problem than the F-gloss?

This probably varies box by box, but my box of semi matte is
perfectly flat and goes through the 2400 with no issues at all. My
box of f-type glossy, is curled at both ends, and needs a couple
minutes of uncurling to go through without smearing ink all over the
ends of the paper. Yuk. ...Doug M
