Horizontal Line..............

Horizontal Line..............

2007-03-03 by rebphoto

Hi Gang........

I am using an Epson 1280 with MIS UT2 inks.
I am printing on Ilford Classic Pearl Paper.

  I am printing an 8x10 on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

I am getting a light line running horizontally
about a quarter inch in to the top of the print.
(the top is also what is coming out of the printer first)

I have tried adjusting the paper thickness lever
  and that makes no difference.

  HELP!

Hi Russ,

One possible explanation is the transport mechanism is failing as you intuited. Sometimes
dirty rollers can cause this problem. One way to clean them is to moisten one end of a
sheet of matt paper with windex with ammonia or alcohol and run it thru the printer
several times alternating sides up. This problem has happened to me with both the 2200
and the 1280, particularly after changing from matt paper to glossy. HTH
