1280 blobs with Continuous feed UT2

1280 blobs with Continuous feed UT2

2007-03-03 by kimnmichael

About 13 inches into the 19 inch side, I get big blobs of black ink
dropping on the paper. Does not happen with 8x11 -- any ideas?

Thanks

PS can post or send scan of problem if necessary

IMHO, It's likely that you have some paper fiber, cat hair or other
"scmutz," (the technical term pronounced ³shmoots²) on the print head. As
the printer prints, ink accumulates on this debris and when it gets
saturated, drips onto the paper. The paper towel Windex treatment with a
lint-free paper should help. You might also inspect the capping
station/wiper, clean, and apply a drop or two of Windex there. YMMV.

Where can I find directions for accessing those parts of the printer?
It certainly isn't in the Epson manual.

The capping station is where the head parks. You should find a small
plastic lever or slider near the back edge of the head, this will
unlock the head and allow it to slide. Then you will see the ruber
wiper and capping station, clean these items to remove the build up of
goop.

Please do a group search on Yahoo for Windex, capping station, clogs, etc.
You will find that much of this has been written about many times before. If
you still have trouble, contact me off list and I will walk you through the
procedure. It's a lot easier than it sounds.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
