1160 Roll paper feed help!

1160 Roll paper feed help!

2002-01-27 by graphicsnz

Testing a cut-down photo rag roll in the 1160 piezo and needed
to interrupt the first print. I made two mistakes: in pre-feeding the
paper, so it fed to the second "sheet" of the panorama, and not
centreing the image.

Now I can't get the roll out to rewind. Is there any way to manually
reverse the paper or unlock the feed rollers?

Otherwise, switching it off feeds the entire 12m roll before it
stops (I pulled the plug)

Don't 'cha just feel like "I love Lucy" on the candy conveyor
sometimes???

I was pretty excited when I ordered a roll holder for my 1270... At
least I only had the problem with relatively cheap Epson paper... I
wound up pulling the plug like you did and then cut the paper and let
it run through (I was SURE it would print some binary number code all
over it if I let the whole thing go through).

If you can guess or measure how much to cut off, you can shoot it
through and then trim it up and feed it like a large sheet? That's
what I wound up doing and it was actually OK.

Good luck

You're right - get rid of the conveyor. The roll feed is a waste of
time on single big panoramas. Cutting it to custom sheets is the
most predictable way to handle it.

(Roll feed is the worst on cheap thin Epson paper, but I can see
a point if you need to print a roll of color snaps on photo paper)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
