Hi,
people seem to think that the MIS magenta inks are less lightfast than Epson's. But I looked up the MIS fade tests and they claim the opposite.

S0 ... are the MIS fade tests scientifically sound? I wonder, because they use bleach instead of light to test fading.

You may be looking at the comparison between the original MIS "Archival"
pigment ink and Epson dye ink.

 

http://www.inksupply.com/rit.cfm -- This page has the 1999 RIT results for
the original MIS Archival inks.  The black was a hybrid black (bad) and has
been replaced by Eboni.  The old yellow has been replaced.  Compare the Cyan
and Magenta.  They appear to be representative of what we are currently
getting through MIS, as best I can tell.  The relative fade rate of the
magenta is the problem.  I have not seen totally reliable comparisons
between the MIS and Epson magenta pigments.  Usually, however, where I have
done direct or indirect comparisons of the two, the Epson K2 magenta pigment
seems to do a bit better than the MIS magenta.
