Converting a dye 7600 to B&W

I have an Epson 7600 dye printer that I am considering converting to a dedicated B&W pigment inkset. Since this was a dye set up, are there any problems with this conversion? I read some time ago that a dye 7600 can be converted to ultrachrome via some board level dip switches. Is this really needed? Anybody done this that may have some tips? Lou
