Newbie-Are there back ink sets for the R1800

Newbie-Are there back ink sets for the R1800

2007-06-13 by Vinyl Graphics of Taft

I wanted to print a few prints in B/W using my R1800. I have Photoshop CS3, and printing
with the color carts leaves my prints "muddy". Is there a vendor that supplies carts for the
R1800 like they do for the r2400?

Also, I have seen Qimage mentioned here. Is this a good software package for printing? I
have a 7"X55" panorama (in color) that I want to print, but fear the 44" limitation of the
Epson driver. Will Qimage work?

1. Cheap, slightly complex solution requiring a little research:
Try www.inksupply.com for empty R1800 carts you can fill yourself
with their Black Eboni ink then print stunning B/W by using QTR
(www.quadtonerip.com) and Paul Roark's QTR profiles/curves (search
in this Group for recent posts by Paul).

2. Not so cheap, simple process
Try www.piezography.com for pre-filled R1800 carts. Print using QTR
(as above) using profiles that come with QTR. Again stunning B/W
prints on a range of matte papers.

I have used both and now use Option 1 above.

Cheers

Great! Both options look very good. Probable will try Option #2 first.

MIS is supporting the multi-channel, 100% carbon system I've been using.
See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/R1800.pdf for my explanation and
profiles, and http://www.inksupply.com/r1800_bo.cfm for the carts.
