Diallo-induced question

2007-06-16 by hflockwood

Well, I just got Amadou Diallo's terrific book on Digital Black and White. And I'm learning
quite a bit. He has provided answers to questions that have muddied my thinking in the
past. Thanks, Amadou.

I now have to think about a spectrophotometer. What is the least painful route for B&W
printing on my R2400? Appreciate any guidance.

Harry

Thanks for the kind words Harry.
For a spectrophotometer, the Eye-One by Xrite is the most popular and
compatible handheld device.

A less expensive option is the Colorvision hardware. Techincally
speaking it's a spectrocolorimeter, for what that's worth. It works
with only two products that I know of, namely PrintFix Pro and (with a
workaround) QTR. I'm sure Tobie will provide more details but in my
experience the Colorvision spectro yields very good results for b/w
printing with the latest multi-K Canon, Epson and HP printers.
