Using a roll feeder for batching B&W on the 2400

2007-07-07 by Seth

Hi all-

1. Before I order rolls of Hawk Mountain, I must confess Epson has gone the
way of car owners' manuals--the question you have is not in the book.

I understand that the 2400 will print a cutting line and eject the paper.
BUT, will it just print a batch using the roll? I want to do an edition of
B&W but don't want to nurse-maid each print. If you must stand there and
cut each one, what's the point of roll feed? Single feed is faster (!?!?!)

2. Epson gives three sizes (widths) of rolls. I would print 8x10's on 10
or 11 inch wide; not 8-1/2. I like plenty behind the mat board. Does the
printer know the true size of the roll? Or, does it just limit your width
of a print based on the roll size you tell it? A 44" roll cut to two 13's,
one one 11, and a 7 would be economical if they feed okay.

Thanks,

Seth
