Canon Pixma Pro 9500

Canon finally has their pigment ink printer on the market. Has anyone
had any experience with this beast, particularly its paper handling?
How much of a limitation is the single gray ink going to be?

Canon Pixma Pro 9500

I recently had a little e-mail exchange with David Brooks who reviews printers for Shutterbug. He believes the iPF5000 ".... remains the best inkjet printer I have used."

He also has strong, positive assessments of the 9500. "Just a couple of weeks ago Canon sent me a Pixma 9500 Pro printer to test and report on. I can say there is little difference in print quality compared to their professional imagePROGRAF iPF5000 - in other words it makes very fine quality prints in both color and B&W. It is of course more limited, a 13' wide printer, with 10 colors of ink, and one printhead compared to two with the iPF5000, so it is also much slower printing. However, at the street price, which is competitive with the Epson Stylus Photo R2400, I think on the basis of print quality it is the best archival, color and B&W printer in its size class I have worked with."
