Portfolio black and HPR warning??

Portfolio black and HPR warning??

2007-07-27 by Mark Savoia

I just ordered some ink from Inkjetmall and noticed this new (at
least new to me) warning about the Portfolio Black. Are they
referring to the coating issue Hahnemuhle had in the winter that had
nothing to do with the inks? Since Hahnemuhle fixed the coating on
those certain batches, I have had no issues.

Portfolio Black is not recommended for use with Hahnemuhle Photo Rag
because there have been reports of chemical deterioration on this
particular sheet's unique coating.

Mark

Mark..that's Piezography's problem only...right?

Does a link support that? I couldn't find it on Inkjetmall.

Also, Which specific Hahnemuhle batch numbers had the alleged "winter"
problem? Do you have a link supporting that?

Thanks, John

I don't know, that is why I ask.

If you look at the description for Portfolio Black it is there.

Kind of old news by now, somebody might know the numbers.

Mark, Wish I could rephrase that last post...I don't doubt your
information, but if you have links it'd be a good service.

Many would want to know about any paper problem, but doesn't your
warning refer only to one specific Piezography ink?

John

Mark,

I've seen no MIS or Epson reports of problems, and HPR's hyper-popular
with that (vast majority) crowd... they'd have squawked by now if they
had troubles.

You've said there's a Piezotone / HPR problem, but I can't find a
reference on Inkjetmall, and you've not chosen to link...

A new urban legend :-)
