Digital BW, The Print

This may have been covered before but here goes:

A friend gave me an Epson 1270 a couple of weeks ago and I decided to
set it up with UT2 ink and spongeless cartridges.  All went fine and I
was getting great results with this ink but I stated to have random
nozzles clogging.  When I would do a cleaning cycle it would sometimes
get worse, it was obvious I was getting air in the head.  I followed
the instruction on priming the carts from MIS which stated not to
remove too much ink from the cart only about 1 cc.  What I found out
was there were small air pockets around the valve that I did not get
out, I need to get some vacuumed on it and pull more ink through to
get rid of the air (this took some doing). If you are a first time
user of these spongeless cartridges do a very good job on priming or
expect problems.
