color settings in CS2

color settings in CS2

2007-08-31 by paul_d_chr

Could anyone tell me what the "color settings" should be in CS2 if I
am printing with an Epson R220 printer, MIS UTR2 ink, and Epson
Enhanced Matte paper? The reason I ask is that my screen image in CS2
is far brighter than what I print out and what I can see in the Adobe
photoshop album viewer. I have calibrated my monitor as well as I can.
BTW, I read Paul Roark's article on setting up the R220 but had
trouble translating the Elements' settings to CS2 settings. Thanks in
advance.

I generally use Color Settings Gray Gamma 2.2 and AdobeRGB (1998). In the
print preview choose Let Photoshop Determine colors, use the appropriate
ICC, and have the driver set to No Color Adjustment.

If the print tone does not match that of a calibrated monitor, you may need
to make your own ICC. With QTR's Create ICC this is very easy -
particularly if you have a spectro. If you don't, even a flatbed scanner
can be used. See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Making_B-W_ICCs.htm

Good luck with the system.

Paul,
Thanks for your reply to my question. I'll give those settings a try.
And thanks for all the information you provide on your website. It has
been a big help.
Paul
