Candidate R2400 printing system

Candidate R2400 printing system

2007-09-10 by hflockwood

For B&W-only printing on my R2400, I have zeroed in on the combination, QTR+Cone K7 inks
+ Efillink Pro CIS.

Anyone care to reenforce or cast doubt on this decision? Any comments at all will be
appreciated.

Harry

Stephane: "So now I use NK7 inks with an inkrepublic continuous ink
system driven by QTR. Of course it is only matte papers, the DMax
could be better and the inks are still quite expensive but it is
gorgeous! There is a richness and smoothness in tones I newer saw
before. It is hard to explain, it might very well be entirely
subjective. It looks very, very good on Moab Entrada Natural and Moab
Kayenta. Extraordinary as well on PhotoRag, but quite warm on that
one. I have yet to try on Epson Velvet and UltraSmooth. Oh, and no
clogs. I have it for 3 months now, of which it remained unused for one
solid month. Just one cleaning cycle and everything was up and running."

This should give you a good direction.

Thanks, Ben. That's very useful.

Printer Front End

2007-09-21 by Barry Koblenz

We have several large format Epson inkjets that are networked. All wkstns
connect via Airport. Managing print queues has been almost nightmarish.
Hence I have been testing a printer front-end, a legacy G4, to which I
would connect via firewire one or more printers (a 4000, 7600, & 9600). I
have tried doing this thru printer sharing, but in tests so far I encounter
'PrintJobMgr Status 85' & '...Signal6' errors when I access
http://localhost:631.

Updated to 10.4.10. Reinstalled CUPS 1.2.12. How can I fix this?

Thanks, -Barry
