Paper Profile Question

Paper Profile Question

2007-09-19 by garyphoto6

Hello,
I am using XP,CS3 and an Epson 3800. I have made a paper profile using
Print Fix Pro and am only making Black and White prints. My
understanding is that I should pick this profile in Photoshop and not
with my 3800. When I use it in Print with Photoshop the print comes out
gray but when I use it in Page Setup for my 3800 they looks great.
Everything I read says Photoshop should control color and that the
profile should be chosen with it and not the printer. Are other using
the printer to control the color and any ideas on why my prints are not
looking good with Photoshop controling the color?
Thanks,
GaryW

I assume you're using the standard RGB driver for printing. In that
case, make sure you have your Photoshop and Epson driver settings set
up correctly. See here for a suggested step-by-step workflow:

Eric,
Thanks for your response. I followed your settings and made a slight
correction in the profile and the prints are looking much better.
