Epson settlement rebates-They got us again!

Epson settlement rebates-They got us again!

2007-09-26 by Steven Karafyllakis

Has anyone tried to cash in their settlement rebates at the Epson
store? I just did. The system will only accept one per order. Not only
can you not get a real discount (if you have more than one-I have 5) on
anything, but many consumables are so much cheaper at other sites, that
the rebate does you no real good. For instance, their price for a 220
ml cart of UC ink is $112 less $45.00 = 67.00 plus shipping. You can
beat that on ebay anytime. Gahh! prunes again!

Steven - Although I'm at least as skeptical of big business as the
next person, I must say
that the Epson settlement rebates went without a hitch for me. As I
remember, I did have
to make two orders (had two rebates), but I purchased 2400
cartridges from the Epson
store with them and it worked out to be a very deep discount for a
total of 8 or ten of them.
Way less than any offers on the internet that I've ever seen.

I don't deny you can make it work for you, Clayton, I'm just annoyed
because for a while I was thinking I could apply the entire amount to
the price of a printer. One per order when you have 5 but don't shop
at all at the "Epson store" is a real PITA

I used mine to by paper. About 90$ worth of paper for 6$ shipping is a pretty good deal. Make sure your total is over 45$ are you will loose the balance of the rebate.

I had 8 of them to use. Yes, it would have been nice to combine them
all and get a really good discount on a large format printer, but I
did use them for one at a time. I got a refurb R1800 for $300 with
free shipping, bought an extra set of carts for it, bought 5 packs of
PremiumArt Matte 12X12, a new R260 with an extra set of carts, a roll
of Luster paper, a roll of gloss paper, and I still have one rebate
left. At $45 a pop, a nice discount on items I was going to buy
anyway. And by the way, if you didn't want the rebate as a store
credit, you can opt for a cash settlement (read the fine print), or
sell it on eBay.

Options, there are always options.

That is what I did, cashed the checks a long time ago.

The fine print durrently says the dedline for that option passed. I put
my email down to be notified when all this became effective, never
heard from anyone. Hey by some of mine? -kidding.
