4880 paper transport mechanism.

Having experienced enough problems, mainly feeding sheet paper, (Hanem. Photo rag and Epson's own ultra smooth) with my 4000 I am thinking of switching to 4880 but would not if you tell me that the mechanism has not been substantially reworked....or was it on the 4880 ? Would a Canon of similar format be more friendly to use ? Thank you for your help here, truly. Lionel
