CIS or not CIS

I'm thinking of buying a CIS system for my R1800, I'm using NK7 ink carts from Cone and QTR and found out that the set of carts aren't that inexpensive as I'd like that to be. Now, I see that that Niagara system is going for $ 130.- and that the smallest bottles are going for $ 44.- each. (4 oz bottles). Bringing the whole thing down to Argentina (CIS plus bottles) would mean a very high shipping cost not to speak of argentinean ridiculous customs taxes to be paid at the time of entering the packet to the country. So I was trying to find out some other choices: there're a couple of guys here making similar systems for my R1800 but I'm not sure how reliable they are so would like from someone in the list what I should have to be checking for when I have that system in front of me. On the other side, I saw an ad from them speaking that they were providing the system with bottles and inks but these were dye inks while I know the R1800 is made for pigment ink instead. This is making me think they are even less reliable still though as I ignore about this subject... Maybe I'm wrong. I was wondering also about how often the CIS system should be used to not to get clogs, I've heard of people getting clogs if the printer wasn't used for some period. Well I think that's it by now. Any comments, suggestions will be strongly appreciated. Pablo
