Using a scanner to linearize?

Using a scanner to linearize?

2008-01-22 by Mike Dobbs

Can a reasonable printer linearization be done with a plain flatbed
scanner and QTR?

I use MIS UltraTone2 inks in an Epson 1280.

Thanks,

Mike.

I was able to do a fairly good job with a flatbed scanner.

See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Making_B-W_ICCs.htm with respect
to using a flatbed scanner for linearization.

See also http://www.paulroark.com/BW-
Info/Embedding_Photoshop_Curves_in_ICCs.pdf with respect to embedding
the photoshop UT2 curves in ICCs with QTR's Create ICC-RGB.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
