New desktop printer RIP

New desktop printer RIP

2002-02-06 by mkravit

I heard a little while ago that Colorbyte Software will be releasing
a desktop printer version of their large format printer RIP soon that
will be priced under $500. This RIP will work with Lyson, MIS, and
Cone inks. In fact, the MIS FS, FS Neutral, and FS Sepia will work
with it as well since they all have the same densities.

I would think that this RIP will be available for the Mac and PC just
as the large format version.

Mike-

Could this be the Piezo 2? I'm told that Cone has licensed Image
Print and added his storehouse of profiles to "customize" it.

Tom,

see my message 8371 for more details on this. And, yes, is the answer to your
question. Briefly: the prices are the same. You choose between ConeTech
profiles and tech sup vs Colorbyte's included profiles plus free bw profiles for
whatever ink/paper combo you would like to use.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
