Cone Color Continuous Flow System

Cone Color Continuous Flow System

2008-05-28 by steveh0607

Hello Everyone,

FYI For those using the R2400 and the ABW mode:

I just installed the Cone Color continuous flow system on my R2400. The website says
they are designed to have the same color space as the Epson K3 inks so that Epson's icc
profiles will work with this ink set.

After installation (tedious, but easy) I ran a bunch of test prints using Enhanced Matte and
the system works excellent. Both color and black and white prints (neutral and toned via
ABW as well as Hue/Sat layer) printed with the Cone inks and Epson profiles looked
identical to prints made using Epson inks.

I also have some Premier Art BW Matte 210gsm paper which uses the Epson Ultra Smooth
color profile. The same prints on this paper also looked identical to Epson ink prints. The
black and white prints on this paper had slightly better contrast than those on Enhanced
Matte. Maybe the Premier Art paper just prints with better contrast.

I thought I'd give you guys and gals a heads up that this continuous flow ink set works as
advertised. I expect to save a mountain of cash now that I don't have to buy a cart every
two minutes!

Happy Printing,

Steve

Steve,

I am thinking about purchasing this system as well, however I print
mostly b/w on glossy paper.

Have you ran anything on glossy paper?

I read in the Cone newsletter that the inks don't seem to perform as
well as the Epson inks on glossy, particularly with respect to dmax.

Do you have any thoughts on that?

Joe
