I've downloaded and copied the UTR2 ICCs into my spool/drivers/color folder, but I don't see these profiles offered to me in the Elements print dialog when I choose "Printer Profile". (I've opened and closed the color settings dialog, as well as restarted my system) Perhaps I'm missing something obvious here -- there seem to be other .icc files that do not correspond to entries here, so perhaps I'm missing an additional step. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -Evan-

I do not have Elements 6, but in version 4 when the "Show More Options" is checked in the print preview the "QTR" profiles show, but they are divided into 2 groups. The RGB versions are with most of the other ICCs, and the ICCs made with the standard Create ICC are in a second group near the bottom of the list. If you still don't see them, try using Windows Explorer to see if they show up in the folder. Paul www.PaulRoark.com --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "evanmc" <evanmc@...> wrote:

Yes, the profiles do show up in the .....drivers/color directory, but I don't see them in the printer profiles list within the elements print dialog. I tried the alternate method of installation I've read about elsewhere, that of right-clicking on the .icc file and selecting "Install Profile", but that produces an error "This is not a valid color profile". (I neglected to add that this is for an R220 printer) I'm quite confident that the files were not corrupted during download, as I tried this on two separate machines, but just for reference, here are the sizes of two of the files: 06/06/2008 08:03 AM 1,952 R220_EEM_MHW_G22_Std_CC-0.icc 06/06/2008 08:07 AM 1,944 R220_Kirk_PGPP_G18_RPM.icc Perhaps this is a windows problem and not a Photoshop one. -Evan- --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "pr_roark" <pr_roark@...> wrote:

Be sure you're in what was the first dialog box -- the "Print Preview" - - and not the various Epson driver boxes. That Print Preview is part of the Adobe software. These Adobe previews in both PS and Elements, at least since I've been using them, recognized these ICCs. Other programs may not. If the newest Elements does not it's a problem that Roy will probably want to look at. Again, I don't have Elements 6 to test it. I think you previously mentioned that you've refreshed the PS Elements ICC list by clicking on Edit>Color Settings. If ICCs are put into the folder after PS/Elements is started, the list does need to be refreshed this way (the soft proofing routine does the same thing). Paul www.PaulRoark.com
