Switching procedure between MK and PK on Epson R200

Switching procedure between MK and PK on Epson R200

2008-08-06 by marko.mili

How much flushing should one do when switching between UT-3D MK (Ebony I guess) and
PK cartridges on Epson R200? Should I run a cleaning cycle, or just print X square inches of
only black ink position (using a RIP)?

Many thanks for advice.

I'm told the heads contain very little ink. Usually the cleaning cycle
that is done as part of the ink changing will be enough when just
switching between MK and PK.

I know from switching from color to a grey, however, that there are
trace amounts that will take a while to clean out, but I don't think
they are enough when you're just dealing with 2 high load carbon inks
to make a significant difference in actual printing. With color one
can often see traces in the top half of a purge pattern print.
