Digital BW, The Print

Hello.  I have an Epson 1400 printer in which I plan to use the UT-14 
inkset from inksupply.com.  My question is, can I switch between the 
cartridges of UT-14 and cartridges of color pigment ink in the same 
printer without causing problems?  Do I need to clean thje printheads 
when switching?  Thanks in advance for any info/ advice!

I have the same set up and yes you definitely need to do a head 
cleaning until all color is purged or at least one head cleaning which 
will happen automatically then do some large color purge prints to 
check that all color is purged. 

You do not have to do a cleaning cartridge purge filled with cleaner or 
base fluid.

I wouldn't swap out much or you will go thru tons of ink.

I've got 1400 with dedicated UT14 CIS and another with color CIS. I'm 
contemplating putting pigment Ultrachrome K3 (or rather K4 equivalent 
third party ink) in my third 1400 but not sure how well it will profile.
